Samhain 2008

Think Tennessee

All who are planning on being with Dragon Palm for Samhain 2008 needs to get on the DragonPalmEvents@yahoogroups.com   list.  Also you need to email either Angus WaterStone or Dreamweaver that you are planning on coming. Samhain 2001 was not what we had hopped for, so 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006 were small and we will not actively start work on Samhain 2008 until after MidSummer.  So join the Yahoo group to get updates and news of changes to this page. This list is also used to update people on different events held by Dragon Palm Circle. We will post there when we will be holding Pagan Night Outs and when we are planing things like Picnics and other events that will be open to non-Coven members.

  If you would like to be part of a Samhain 2008 try and let us know before June 2008 if you are interested.  If we do not have enought interested parties by then, we will not plan on anything but a small get together.

If you would like to give or lead a workshop/discussion/demonstration  let us know.  Also if you would like to perform let us know.

NOTE TO PEOPLE COMING FROM FLORIDA: You will be coming into Fall weather - temperatures at night can get much lower than a Florida Cold spell.  Temperatures can get into the low 30's at night.  If you are planning on camping bring clothing for this. The 2001 Samhain we saw temperatures not going much over 40° and many didn't show up because of this - please let us know if you have told us you are coming and change your mind at the last minute because of weather.  Because of people coming from out of town we will not cancel because of weather.

Past Years:

1997 - Luzon Covenstead Lake Worth, FL - around 20 people - with a handfasting to start the events.

1998 - Luzon Covenstead Lake Worth, FL  over 100 in attendance - Band Dionysos performed.

1999 - Willow Creek Covenstead - Sevierville - very small - our first Samhain in Tennessee.

2000 - Covenstead - Sevierville - first reunion - small - but with five people from out of state.(about 20)

2001 - North Gatlinburg Park - Gatlinburg - very cold -very small turnout.

2002 - Small get together of Coven and friends.

2003 - Small get together of Coven and friends

2004 - Small get together of Coven and Friends

2005 - Small get together of Coven and Friedns

It was cold Samhain and most of us come from Florida.  The day before we all went on a hay ride in which we were able to pick our own pumpkins.   Ride and pumpkins were only $5 and it was only a few miles from our Covenstead.
